As a presenter, do I need to register for the conference?​

Yes, all presenters are required to register for the conference.

Can I attend the conference without presenting?​

Yes! We welcome all attendees regardless of whether you are presenting or not.

When will submission decisions be communicated?

We anticipate that all decisions on submissions will be communicated in early March 2023.

Is registration open?

We anticipate registration opening in early March 2023.

I need help with my conference registration. Who should I contact?​

Conference registration is expected to be available in the Spring of 2023. Stay tuned for more details!

In-Person Format

What is the format of the conference?

We are extremely excited to host an in-person conference this year in Edinburgh, Scotland! In contrast to the previous 3 years where COVID-19 impacted our ability to meet in-person, we are confident that an in-person conference is achievable this year. Unless there is a UK government-imposed international travel ban to Scotland, we will not pivot to a virtual online format.

Travel and Accomodations

Will there be a hotel room block?

Hotel accommodation for delegates is available in Pollock Halls. Delegates will receive preferential rates, but the accommodation is also open to tourists visiting the city, so early booking is recommended. Details about hotel accommodations will be announced when available - stay tuned!

Are there discounted lodging options for students?​

We are exploring affordable lodging options for students. Stay tuned for updates!

Will I need to have transportation from the hotel to the conference venue?​

The hotel accommodation is next to the conference venue and within walking distance of Edinburgh City Centre and the University Central Campus. You can find more information about how to get around Edinburgh and the university here.

Will travel grants be offered?​

ISAZ will offer Student Travel Awards and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Awards in 2023. To learn more about these awards and apply, visit the ISAZ Awards Page on the website.

What are the visa requirements to enter the Scotland (UK)?​

Visit https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa to check whether a travel visa is required for international travelers visiting Scotland (UK).
